Manasuru Antique Travel Iron Flat Folding Cloth Cord Japan 1950s

Antique Travel Iron, made by Manasuru in Japan, circa 1950s. The travel iron is a flat iron and the handle folds down for easy packing.

The small steel plate that is screwed on the top of the iron says in red "Manasuru Travel Iron 110V 250W Japan" on it.

It has a cloth cord and what appears to be bakelite plugs. The end that plugs into the iron has "Made in Japan", the number 7 in a triangle and a number 7 beside that with "6A250V" above them and a what looks like an eagle with its wings spread and a "K" in the center of it below the 7s. The end that plugs into the wall has "250V-10A" on both sides and does not have the polorized blades as today's plugs have. The rubber coated wires inside the cord are stiff, but bendable.

The iron is in great shape and the plugs are easily removed. The bottom of the iron has goldish-brass tone to it and some scratches across it.

The iron measures 6 3/4 inches long and 4 inches at the widest part. The handle is 6 inches long. The cord is approximately 58 inches long.
