*Make 'em Matte:* Balloons become matte when oxidized, which occurs naturally from light and oxygen exposure. To oxidize, blow up balloons a couple of days before the event, or leave for a day or two in a well-lit room. (Note: if using helium, we don't recommend blowing up the balloons days in advance because they will lose height.
