Description

Make your own baby dragon to sit in the palm of your hand! Two inches tall, and five from nose to tail, this miniature beast probably won't be terrorising anything more than some dust bunnies.
The pattern was designed to combine a realistic style of dragon usually only available in much larger patterns, with tiny proportions able to sit on the palm of your hand.
((IMPORTANT: This pattern requires *both* knit and crochet techniques to make one dragon))
Being so small, they're great for stash busting leftover DK yarns!

The pattern includes comprehensive instructions with a thorough step-by-step tutorial with photos of every stage for assembling the dragon (see blue/orange images for examples)
There are no physical items to send, so there is no postage!

Although this pattern would be extremely ambitious for a beginner in either technique, detailed information is given at every stage to help less experienced crafters complete the pattern successfully.
It is recommended that you look up comprehensive guides and videos to any techniques described which you are not familiar with.

This listing is for the digital pattern only, and I can no longer offer finished items made to request sorry!

-----Full Information-----

---What Do I Get?---
One PDF Pattern (8 pages) that requires both knit and crochet techniques to complete
- 2 pages introduction and information
- 2 pages knit and crochet instructions to build the body parts
- 4 pages step-by-step photo tutorial in assembling the dragon

---How Is The Pattern Delivered?---
- The files should be available instantly on purchase, where you will be given access to download the PDF.
- You are buying a digital pattern. There is not currently the ability to buy the printed pattern and have it posted to you, however if the pattern is popular and some people request this I will create that as a separate item to purchase.

---What Do I Need?---
(zoom in to pattern preview for detail)
- DK yarn in two colours, scrap embroidery thread for eye highlight, small piece of felt for claws, a little stuffing
- 2.5mm dpns, 3.5mm crochet hook, yarn needle, thread needle, scissors

---How Difficult Is It?---
- This pattern includes some more advanced knitting techniques, as described on the information page attached (zoom in to see full techniques list). The crochet is fairly simple, and the making up of the dragon is fully explained with photos of every step. If you are not familiar with any of the techniques listed then it's recommended you look up online tutorials and videos for them and try them out.
- The dragon is small, so some parts may be fiddly if you are more used to knitting large items. There is a fair amount of sewing in ends and stitching parts together, however a moderately experienced crafter who knows all the techniques before hand should be able to complete the dragon in a matter of hours.

---What Do I Not Get?---
- You do not get permission to sell this pattern as it is or in an adapted form, or give it away for free.
- You do not get permission to make and sell items made by this pattern.

---What Can I Make?---
Baby dragons in all kinds of colours! They can be attached to headbands or hats, sewn or safety-pinned to shoulders of clothing as companions, or lounge around your house looking cute, stealing scraps of food when you're not looking.

If you have any problems or questions about the pattern or your purchase, or find any mistakes, do not hesitate to contact me here, e-mail sfarfort [!at] yahoo.co.uk or send a message to CraftyMutt on Facebook!

This dragon turned out so well, and the pattern explains everything clearly enough that I could make it even though I'd never made i-cord before.

File delivery
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
Once payment is received I will begin the process of packaging and posting!
For custom orders - the item will be started as soon as I can after payment, and upon completion photos will be sent to you to confirm if you're happy with what has been made. If the item isn't right and you require it to be remade the time required to make the order will be reset (although you'll still be at the front of the queue so to speak), and if an item needs to be completely remade rather than just replaced, the original item will go on sale in the shop for somebody else to buy while I start on the adjusted request.
I only require deposits on custom items organised by convo if it requires purchasing a large amount of material in that are very specific to your order, to cover those costs.
I can only take Paypal.

Returns & exchanges

Once an item has been received, if you find it to be an incorrect item or damaged (send photograph please) I will refund the amount you paid for the purchase once the item has been returned to me, the buyer will need to cover any return delivery costs.
Be aware that as soft items they may get a little squashed out of shape on their way, but with a little care they can be helped back to their proper shape; they're not damaged, just a little tired from the travel!

I get proof of postage with every item sent but if your item does not arrive, I am very sorry, but I cannot refund :( fortunately this is rare, and I really hope none of my creatures or creations get lost out there all on their own!

If these two events combine, and an item gets lost in delivery from you back to me, I will still be willing to refund the product if you obtained proof of postage - always ask at the post office!

Additional policies

Scale Mail Guarantee - I am very confident in the strength of the yarn and the quality of my knitted scale items, so I am offering a LIFETIME GUARANTEE.
If you find that your gloves (or other scaly item) become so worn through years of use that any scales start to fall off, or are hanging very loose and likely to fall off soon, please contact me with an image of the problem.
If you send the item to me at your cost (address provided when you show me the problem; warning, address changes frequently, do not use an address unless you have been given it specifically for the task) I will re-knit it onto new yarn and send it back to you for ABSOLUTELY FREE.
The yarn will be the best approximation of the original yarn, depending on availability years down the line.

I am willing to take requests for items, or reserve items for a few days if requested.
If you see something you like but would want in a different colour or other small change I will be able to make a special item for you, and convo you when the listing is ready with an image to confirm you still want it, and with approval with list the item for you to purchase. The item will be priced identical to the item it is based on, unless the change is substantial. Completely custom requests are also welcome by convo!

If a request/reservation is made but not purchased or otherwise responded to within a pre-agreed time (default three days from me notifying you, including weekends) then I may choose to remove the reservation and allow anyone to purchase the item.

Some items may be made several times, and I may use photographs of one of them for all their listings. Please allow for the fact that these are handmade, and that there may be slight shape and colour differences in your item to the photo.
I generally like to show photographs of each one specifically though because I like you to see exactly who you are offering your home to :)
