Description

About Caroline Sando:
Caroline Sando, "Peacock Feathers", is a full blooded Native American Indian. She was born in 1963 into the Jemez Pueblo. She was inspired to learn the art of pottery making by her Grandmother, Andrea Tsosie. Andrea taught Caroline all the fundamentals of working with clay and using ancient traditional methods. She began experimenting with pottery in 1971 at the age of 8. The lucrative aspect of the business also played a key roll in her becoming an artisan.
Caroline specializes in Jemez Pueblo style storytellers. She uses all natural clays and natural paints to hand make her storytellers. Caroline gathers her own clay from the sacred grounds within the Jemez Pueblo. Then, she cleans, mixes, shapes, paints and fires her pottery the traditional way, outdoors, with cedar wood chips. She accents her dolls with turquoise stones to give them more of a traditional look. Her favorite ones to make are 20" or taller, because she likes the challenge of adding more detail and more children. Caroline signs her pottery as: Caroline Sando, Jemez.

Shipping policies

All of my items are carefully packaged and sent in a bubble mailer envelope. I have tried to ship in the most economical way possible. Heavier packages will be sent in a priority mail box.

I try really hard to be very accurate with shipping charges. Shipping charge includes not only the cost of postage, but also packaging (bubble envelope, bags, and other protective wrapping necessary), etc...

I can also ship normal items Priority Mail or Express Mail... for those of you in a bind. Contact me for pricing.

Orders are not insured. I've never had a package not arrive but If you would prefer to have your package insured against loss or damage, please message me a request for insured shipping and I will send you a PayPal invoice for the difference.

Please understand that I am not responsible for weather, postal or customs delays. I hate them too! Buyers are responsible for any duty or custom charges if applicable.

All orders will be shipped within 1-2 business days. Normal shipping time (in the United States) is 1-4 business days.

International Orders take an average of 7-10 days but that's just an average. Some take as long as 6 weeks. Depending on the country and the time of year. Once I get it mailed out, the tracking information will be sent. After that, it's out of my hands. Please understand, once I mail it out, I can't control the postal system or the speed of delivery. Also, once it leaves the United States (through either El Paso, TX or Chicago, IL) you may not be able to track it until delivered. I can prove that it was shipped out but there isn't proof that you received it. Therefore, I will not issue a refund on international orders if you don't receive them. So please consider adding insurance on international orders. If you have questions, please message me before placing an order!

And… please, please get your address right. Sounds crazy but it happens. I cannot be responsible for incorrect addresses. No… really! I will charge you another delivery fee if it is returned to me! If you are an international customer, please leave me a phone number for the international shipping label.
