Last night something occurred to me: we didn't have anything Christmas-related in our house. That's quite a pickle considering we're running headlong into the holiday. It's not like we can just slip on down to the department store for some cold, anonymous decorations either. That would just cut across the grain of a quaint season. On a whim, we whipped up this table centerpiece.

Then it struck us: how many other people are like us and can't stand the idea of a mass-produced holiday? So we're going to stitch up a few of these centerpieces for anyone who subscribes to the notion that Christmas should be more about character than consumption.

We start our 'trees' with 100-percent wool stitched with a freehand pattern. We hand-stuff them with hypo-allergenic (and US-made) fiberfill. Then we 'decorate' them by felting 'ornaments' directly to the body. Finally, we christen each one with a pompon.

These centerpieces include three trees, two at 10 inches tall and another at 16 inches, and a handful of spare pompons to display around them. For now we're offering this package for $36.25 plus shipping. Your order will resemble this centerpiece but will not include any pieces from the photo in this listing.
