Description

May I RE-CREATE a fantastic vintage bridal gown, making it into the wedding gown of your dreams? This listing is for a gown re-creation. You would send me a vintage gown, then we would correspond to discuss all the specifics of its transformation from gown to YOUR bridal gown.

Thanks to the beautiful bride Katie for allowing me to share with you the images of her wedding gown! (bravo, Ruby Sky Photography too!) Katie's gown is a beloved and remodeled vintage wedding dress of soft linen and cotton, trimmed with the perfect crocheted lace. It is an ideal example of what I can do with a vintage gown.

Katie's mother had worn the gown for her own wedding back in the day. Then, it had a high neckline and long sleeves...... It was beautiful and particularly nicely fabricated. It's updated now, though. Katie says her Mom loves the newly remodeled gown so much that she still gets giddy every time she looks at Katie's wedding pictures. It's no wonder. She's radiantly gorgeous, isn't she?

Katie's Mom wrote to me: "Yes, looking back on that experience brings me a lot of joy! First off, I was just so surprised that Katie would even want to wear my dress. We had spent a little time dress shopping, which had been frustrating. We were on the same page that most of the dresses out there did not seem to fit what she had in mind. But looking at my dress (still folded up in the same box it was purchased from, stored in the cedar chest all those years).... I just wasn't sure how we could make that dress become hers. But here's where you entered the picture, and your delight in the dress, and your creativity and expertise just made that whole process so much fun! I was truly amazed how beautifully it turned out and how well it fit Katie. So thanks for your part in helping to make Katie & Adam's wedding an expression of who they are. " I feel so proud and happy that Katie and her Mom both are so happy with the dress!

If you are not charmed by any of the myriad same, same, same off-the-rack gowns in the stores, you might want to look again at the vintage gowns in your own family. Mom's or Auntie's or Nana's gown might be just the thing. Or treasure-hunt in your local thrift or charity shop! I would love to RE-MAKE a vintage gown for you according to your vision, for your context, to fulfill your dreams and hopes.

I can change design features. I can change details. I can make the vintage gown much smaller than it was. I can make it much larger, for that matter. I can combine parts from two gowns. I can make it beautiful.

At least 10% of the wedding gowns I have made in recent years are re-creations of vintage gowns. They always work. Awesomely.

The process of creation for a custom made garment (or a custom-remodeled garment) can take two to six months, depending on many factors. Let's discuss your particular situation in order to discern how many weeks or months the process of creation may require.

The price will vary depending on many many many many factors. The price I am listing here in Etsy is just a wild guess regarding the *labor portion* of a wedding gown remodeling project. Contact me and let's begin brainstorming together! There are many variables; you and I will correspond to work out all the details together.

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I accept PayPal, check, or other payment methods that you and I may negotiate.

Returns & exchanges

All sales are final, unless you and I have agreed to some sort of trial arrangement BEFORE your purchase. With custom-made garments, particularly custom garments that are created from a distance (without on-the-body fittings), there is always at least some chance that you may desire some sort of alteration after you actually try on your finished garment. If, after you try on your custom-made garment, you decide that you'd like it to be longer or shorter or looser or tighter (or ANY other change!), you will have to have your local dry cleaner or alterationist make that alteration for you.

I do want you to LOVE your KathleenTemple, Tailor garments, of course. I invite you to bring ANY concerns or dissatisfaction regarding your KathleenTemple, Tailor purchase to me at any time. If you are not happy with our transaction, I will want to make it right with you!

Shipping policies

I will ship your KathleenTemple, Tailor purchase by USPostalService, priority mail, with delivery confirmation and insurance. I will usually be able to ship your custom order to you within a few weeks; let's talk about your timing needs. I would certainly contact you if I foresee any delay as I am working on your custom garment(s).

If you are ordering an item that is already created, not a custom item, I can usually ship within one day! I have some garments ready to ship in my other etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kathleenmeetsmorgan

I welcome collaboration, trades, and bartering with other etsy-ers. I would LOVE it!
