The Furious Fish Flinging Femme


I found this really neat site calledwww.godchecker.com and I use it get ideas for different kinds of dolls. I was looking in the South Seas Dieties section and found a blurb about some wild water demons.

Apparently, these crab clawed and fishtailed men and women rise up out of the deep and scare the beegeezus out of fishermen by flinging live fish at them. It sounds funny to me, but these demons are trying to make a fatal headshot. So I guess it does lose a bit of it's humor. I am always trying to come up with unusual mermaid figures and the fish flingers sounded like they would be interesting to try.

Luri is 14 inches in height and ready to hang from a hanging stand. Bronze lame,patterned rayon,cotton and polyester are hand sewn over her padded armature. Her eyes are hand cast resin. Poor little Rory the fish(or Luri's weapon of choice)is 4 inches in length and made of tye dyed cotton hand sewn over an armature. His eyes are also hand cast resin.
