This sturdy, pamphlet bound book is an honest response to the meaningless question we ask each other every day.

The text block is printed in an edition of 100 using offset lithography and letterpress printed embellishments. The cover is letterpress printed on Fabriano Ingres. Text was written by me and edited by my brother. 3 1\/2" x 4 1\/2"

Text reads:
"How are you?"
"Fine, thank you. How are you?"
It's what we say.
It's not what we mean.
You don't want to know; it's just a greeting.
A friend once told me he liked that I always answered this question honestly.
If you don't want to know, why ask?
I'm guilty, too. I smile. I ask because I want you to think I am a nice person.
But the truth is...
I don't really care.
If you ask, I'll say I'm fine. It's what you want to hear, isn't it? I don't want to let you down.
I don't want to lie. Just say, "hello" unless you really want to know.
"I'm fine."
