I reluctantly offer this huge Cellulose Acetate Purple Peony Brooch. A unique piece from the swinging sixties, I fell in love with it, but as is sometimes the case, it just does not suit me. It is a wonderful example of French mid 20th century innovation and artistry. There is no makers mark but I have seen only one of these in the past and it was French made. It is a truly beautiful piece of art jewellery.
With 8 bold purple petals and a golden centre it is in wonderful condition. The photos say it all.
There is a secure safety pin and it measures 8cm across and 3.8cm in height giving it a very realistic 3D appearance. It is in wonderful mint condition and looks as though it has never been worn.
My disappointment will be someone else's good fortune. A rare treasure for the collector of unique brooches.
*Cellulose is a natural fibre and will last a life time, but can be soluble in water, so I would advise not wearing it in the rain.
