ABOUT THE SHOP: one-woman show making sterling jewelry inspired by antiques and oddities.

I often cut my own gemstones from rough into cabochons, sourcing the rough gemstones from gem shows across the US and from international sellers. I specifically try to buy gemstones from the miners themselves. The rough I buy gets slabbed on a slab saw (like slicing bread!), then cut into pre-forms based on the most interesting and visually appealing spots on the slab. Then I take the pre-form through 6 different polishing grits to end up with a shiny beautiful cabochon.

I hand-fabricate jewelry and look for antique items that can be made into molds for casting. I make the molds, inject those molds with wax, then prep the wax impressions for the lost wax casting process. Once they are cast in silver, I polish them, add bails/stones, file and smooth the edges, add patina, and then do the final polishing.
