Now it is a sad fact: our native hedgehog - the brown-breasted hedgehog to be more precise - is threatened with extinction. The lack of insects and the drastic climatic changes as well as the way we treat the nature around us (sterile/tidy gardens, fences, robotic lawnmowers etc.) are responsible for this.

Since I have hedgehogs in my garden myself, and I always feed them, look after them and release them into the wild, these animals are particularly close to my heart. They represent what we humans should aim for as our highest goal: living in harmony with nature and the environment. We are not alone on this planet. Our responsibility is great.

This quote is one of my favorites because through my drawings and paintings I want to help people get to know animals (again) and thus love and protect them.
