The original sculptures were done by JTJames in polymer clay. Once the originals are complete, Jeff makes a mold to use for casting. The covers are cast from a durable urethane resin. Some of the journals we have seen in retail stores are polyester resin and are quite brittle. Urethane resin is much more forgiving if dropped.

Once the covers for the journal are cast, the journals are then hand painted and bound by Jeff and his wife in Ohio. Our patrons at the Renaissance Fairs have taken these home for sketchbooks, journals, family histories and recipes. These make an excellent Book of Shadows. They make excellent gifts for yourself, a friend or relative.

The front pictures the Ankh, which is an Egyptian symbol for everlasting life. The back cover pictures the
Eye of Horus. This handmade journal has is painted with iridescent acrylics. This is a reproduction of the original sculpture by JTJames. The covers are cast in durable urethane resin. The book has 100 sheets of 8.5" x 5.5" unlined paper.
