Cuphea ignea (cigar plant, cigar flower, firecracker plant, or Mexican cigar).
This species, produces small, tubular, bright red to orange flowers. Each flower is tipped with a thin, white rim and two small purple-black petals. The flower is said to resemble a lit cigar, hence the name.
Beautiful antique plate in color.
107 years old print.
Color lithograph.
Published in 1907 and illustrated by F. Edward Hulme.
Original, not a copy. Reverse blank.
Dimensions 7'4 x 5'1 inches or 19 x 13 cm. Small format.
