This is the pattern I use in my video, "Customizing Doll Patterns." It is an accurate body pattern for a normal "20th Century" woman. The finished doll stands about 16 1/2 inches tall. It does not, however, have a face, because it is meant to be used with a molded, cloth-covered face.
If you already have my book, "Cloth Dollmaking" then you do not need this pattern. Get the $1.00 two-page pattern instead. The instructions for making this doll are already in the book. The reason the pattern exists for just $1.00 is that it is an updated version of the 20th Century pattern in the book. It has separate fingers and thumb. Otherwise, all the instructions for making it are the same as the pattern in the book.
Now, I said that it doesn't have a face. If you want to complete the doll the way I make them, you will either need to follow Chapter Four in the book, or get my video, "Making Faces and Wigs for Cloth Dolls." That will show you, in detail, how to make the face for this doll.
If you'd like to make the doll in a pose, like the one shown here, you will need to alter the pattern a bit, to bend the arm and the leg. How can you do that? It's all there in my first video, "Customizing Doll Patterns."
I used to suggest that, if you don't have any of these items, you get "The Works" because it has both videos, the 2-page pattern, and the book. And you'll save $29.95. (Basically, getting the book for free.) But I'm afraid I can only offer the book as a digital scan, so it listed separately. So "The Works" is no longer available on Etsy.
But, if you just want the pattern as a stand-alone item, then throw this in your basket. My instructions are thorough, accurate, easy to follow, with several illustrations to help you make the best doll possible.
This is the version to buy if you need it right away, can receive large files as attachments to email, and can print them out at your end. There are no shipping charges. Good luck and Happy Dollmaking!
