The combination of ancient traditions and contemporary influences has caused to the evolution of Romanian folk culture over the centuries. Folk clothing is an image of the national heritage of peoples.
For this national costume I was inspired by the traditional folk clothes from Sibiu, Romania.
It comprises:
- A white blouse with long sleeves, embroidered with traditional patterns, underlined with black polyester lace at the border of the sleeves;
- A white embroidered skirt, wrinkled at the waist. Black lace is attached to the border of the skirt;
-2 stylized accessories ''Catrinte'' sewn, embroidered by me and adorned with a black lace;
The traditional 'Catrinte' element is composed two parts - front and rear. Above the waist, both sides are attached with textile lace.
The costume is practical for any occasion: presentation, show, dance, multicultural festival.
Material: 65% cotton and 35% polyester for white shirt and skirt.

All my models are embroidered to the embroidery machine.
Technique: embroidered cross stitch and classic stitch.
German embroidery threads - Gutermann.
I personally design, embroider and produce costumes in Canada.

The costume looks authentic, similar with the ones in Sibiu county. The sleeves are spectacular but very long, I am happy I ordered a size down. The skirt material is thin and you can see through, one need to wear a underskirt. Overall I am happy with the purchase. It arrived in time.
