Ceramic aqua hanging planter. Lovely glazing, seeming to be waves breaking at the shore. Manually carved. Perfectly functional, with holes for hanging and draining, and attached saucer. 5.25" wide by 3.5" tall. Lovely home for a nice spider plant!

This planter "began life" as a lump of clay on a potter's wheel. I shaped it into a hanging planter, giving it a nice attached saucer. When leather-hard I manually carved it, manually pierced it with holes for hanging and holes for drainage. When leather-hard I smoothed out all holes and any areas where possibly sharp edges could remain. At this point, I bisque-fired it.

When cool, I washed it so that no clay dust would remain on the piece. I allowed it again to become bone dry, and at this point, I manually brushed 3 layers of aqua blue glaze. Then it was time for the final firing.

I was very pleased when it came out of the kiln. It would make a lovely addition to home and or patio.

Dishwasher safe, glazed with food-safe and lead-free glazes.
