Description

This is, of course, an absolutely brand new and first quality figure. This is what you might call an adult toy, like a finished model kit if you will, a replica statue of what would be in "real life" a much larger robot or piece of technology! He's about 7 1\/2" high by 5" wide with colorful, shining bright eyes and neat mustache!

In this case it's a large bust, from shoulder (and epelet) area below to the top of his cap above of Old Space Fleet Admiral Philter4. That old dog. Back in the day he helped the robotic armies of the good nebula defeat the onslaught of the Space Demons, oh so many years ago! Oh, he's still around; now he's a consulting rear admiral every fifth Friday of the month at the command center. Otherwise he can be found hanging around the best old fashioned custard stands in the quadrant, licking his vanilla cones and telling stories to the young bot cadets. Retirement is a long way off!

It is one in a series that I am continually growing of "classic" figurines of retro type robots, busts, ray guns, ships and other tech made almost entirely of wood. Most in this "world" or galaxy are somewhat old fashioned, with stylish design lines and curves; a different family from the "block" robot look. They all have plenty of details, joints (some which move -- I usually say), radar dishes, weapons, etc... other possible special features which I try to remember to point out are other moveable parts at times, clear domes, bendable appendages, accessories and the like.

Each is designed by me, completely an original! They are all painstakingly put together and made by hand from various wood pieces, occassionally with other bits or materials (generally like 97-99% is wood). I then carefully paint them, in this case I went with a mainly white, powder coat look with heavy black shading and undertones ... while overall they look like real tech, still, at times just enough of the wood character and sometimes even the grain itself shows through which I think adds a special dimension. I am sure you will be pleased.

Note that these collectable pieces are meant for the display case and NOT for children to play with. Do to their hand made and finished nature as well as the natural wood used slight variations are of course normal.

I prefer emails rather than convos if possible and usually place my adddress in my store banner or description, thanks. I take credit card payments usually directly but may also take other online methods as well (any options will be listed in the email); I will email you an invoice as soon as I can after you buy so you can pay ... and in any case I gladly accept checks or money orders (USA) and plan to continue unless something crazy happens in the future! I DO usually ship all over the world (please read this page fully). Foreign buyers please email me first.

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I take Etsy's own built in credit card system called Direct Checkout, plus several other methods for those that want including old fashioned checks and money orders, even bank transfers and Moneygram, Western Union and the like. I ship like any mail order "guy" after payment comes in, unless you want to make a layaway payment plan arrangement with me (write first before checking out in this case).

Returns & exchanges

If you want to be sure about damages covered for your order write to me about insurance, etc., but all wedding cake toppers and large orders are automatically insured. I cannot sell on approval.

Shipping policies

I generally ship by the post office, pretty quickly, though certainly not daily as I am in the studio so much of my time -- PLEASE allow enough time for your payment to get to me, the order to be processed and then delivery by the PO, etc., especially to foreign countries outside the USA -- which I am always HAPPY to ship to (please give me a phone number if you can that I can add to customs forms for their use, not mine)! If you need upgraded shipping write to me first.

Additional policies

Most of my sculptures are generally all wood, even if they or parts of them don't seem like it! Only the occasionally tiny misc. bit might be something else. The finishes are for the most part (some just to an extent) metallic, and while the charm of the wood can often be seem beneath most people marvel that these are not made from metal! So they're also pretty light weight, too, and the cake toppers sit beautifully and lightly on any cake!

I love to do custom works of all sorts and am happy to give quotes for anything from slight variations of existing items to all new, from scratch, giant sculptures or anything in between, for any occasion or whim! Note that I can often turn many of my items, if they are not already, into necklaces, pins, cufflinks or cake toppers, or leave them plain as a little miniature (often for no charge)! Just email me at buildersstudio@yahoo.com.

Also email if you have a sincere interest in wholesale or the like for a going concern of yours, or represent a gallery.

My collectible art pieces are generally not meant for young children to play with. Do to their handmade and finished nature as well as the natural wood and materials used some small amount of variations are of course normal.

Please note: All of my items are original designs by me and I retain all rights to them and no transfer in whole or part is ever implied or granted without my written consent and usually a fee. Items may not be copied in whole or part or their images used in any way. You are buying the item(s) only not the rights to duplicate them or their images. All of this is normal in the arts world but in todays digital computer craze I think it bears clarifying.
