These Mykonos castings start with a lead-free base metal, and then are coated with pure copper and finished with a green patina.
The material these charms are made of is called Zamac, which is a family of alloys with a base metal of zinc and alloying elements of aluminum, magnesium, and copper.

Truly a charming little pendant. I’m grateful that this little whale is two sided. Shipped very quickly and securely. I love it.
I love this patina whale- such an unusual design! Plus it feels good to hold; It’s quite rounded front and back plus has a slightly “weighty” feel so it feels like a talisman you could hold or rub with your fingers.
Whale is as shown but somehow looked more like a whale on my computer screen than in real life. Hmm must have something to do with scale. Still enjoy the charm.
This whale bead is cute as a button and is now hanging on my copper bracelet.
