Measurements
Only basic body measurements are needed to determine your pattern type and size. Remember to wear proper undergarments and shoes when measuring. Also, make sure the tape measure is held snugly and firmly (not tightly) against your body and is always parallel to the floor for circumference measurements.
Measurements
BUST- Measure around the fullest part of bust and straight across back
UNDER BUST- Measure around the body under the bust
CHEST- around body above fullest part of bust
WAIST- around body at natural waistline
HIP- around body at fullest part around the bottom—usually 7-9" (18-23cm) below waist
BACK WAIST LENGTH - from the most prominent bone at base of neck to the natural waistline
DRESS LENGTH - from the top of the shoulder (where a seam would sit on a t-shirt) to where you would like the dress to finish at the hem.
LENGTH FROM SHOULDER - this is the length from the shoulder to where you want the sleeve to end, if wearing a tight t-shirt with sleeves you can measure from the top of the sleeve seam.
BICEP - this is around the widest part of your upper arm
SLEEVE END - when measuring the sleeve length it can help to put small marks, then using these marks measure around the arm at this point. this way the sleeves will fit really nicely with being baggy or too tight.
Please make sure you send these measurements, using measurements that start from different places (i.e. Dress Length from Armpit will lead to a dress being to short)
