Fabulous Fostoria! Take a look at this stunning pair of iced tea goblets in the "Virginia" pattern. These stemmed goblets are made in a deep, dusky blue glass that features an eye-catching hexagonal foot and crisp paneled sides. CONDITION:

This set of two Fostoria dark blue "Virginia" ice tea goblets is in very good to excellent vintage condition. See my detailed condition notes below:

* Glasses are clean, clear and shiny overall (no mineral etching).
* There may be tiny seed bubbles and string-like cooling marks present in vintage glass (from manufacture).
* Color is a dark dusky or navy blue and is vibrant throughout with little to no fading.
* Glasses are free of chips, cracks, or flea-bites that I detect.
* There are little to no surface abrasions on the glasses (i.e. scuffs, scrapes, utensil marks, etc.), but what is present would be consistent with age and use.

HISTORY:

According to author and director of the Fostoria Glass Society of America, Mary Sue Lyon, "The Fostoria Glass Company began operations in Fostoria, Ohio in 1887 where natural gas was offered at low cost to attract new industries. That rate was very short-lived, and the Fostoria Glass Company moved to Moundsville, West Virginia in late 1891. Fostoria existed as an independent entity until January, 1983 when it was sold to the Lancaster Colony Co. Production which continued operations until February, 1986 when its operations closed, ending nearly 99 years of glassmaking history."
