An original watercolor and ink painting by Courtney Khail

A little while back I was commissioned to do a cross section of a pineapple and immediately loved the subject. Pineapples are one of the best examples of how different something is from it's outer skin- a "don't judge a book by it's cover" example especially made by nature. Once it's rough, thorn covered exterior is pierced, a bright, incredibly sweet fruit can be found.

With this painting, I wanted to capture that juxtaposition, as well as all of the little (often overlooked) detail and beauty of this fruit.

Size: 15"x22"

Because of it's size, this painting will be mailed in a tube mailer.

Please remember that every screen is different, so colors may vary. If you have any questions about this painting, or would like information on a custom, commissioned piece, please contact me through etsy or at courtney [!at] courtneykhail.com
