Description

Coin Origin: Bahamas
Features: Hibiscus Flower
Coin Size: 1 inch (25mm) corner to corner
Date: Varies, may not be the same as photos.

World coins hand-painted by Ann Nolen. I have blended my own paints to hand paint each coin in an "enameling" style. I then add a thick epoxy clear coat to give it shine, depth, and make the surface very durable. The back of the coin has a glued on bail so you can hang it from a chain, and then a clear coat covers the rest of the back. Only the front side has color on it.

I collected coins for over 15 years, and was an active member of my local coin club before deciding to paint coins and turn them into jewelry. My collection was coins with animals on them, and so I have an extensive and unusual inventory of coins to work with. I personally shop for and choose each coin, usually from coin dealers and coin shows so they are the best quality.

If you would like to know more about how I create my jewelry, or the history and story of some coins, please check me out at my website www.AnimalCoin.com. I do a few shows in the San Francisco Bay area, and those locations and dates are also listed on my website.

The Lion symbolizes the strength of Israel. It shows the Lion protects Israel against outside intruders. Can you think of a more perfect gift to the wife of the local rabbi on the birth of her latest child.

This symbolizes the Yukon. My daughter lives there. It captures the dogs on a cold winter night. They howl at the moon. This is what the Yukon is all about. This coin captures this perfectly.

FAQs

The coins and the surface are very durable. Even if they would probably be ok, I don't recommend wearing them in water or swimming. I just don't know how much abuse is too much.

You can clean the jewelry with a soft cloth. If your coin is made of silver, the portions not covered in epoxy resin can be polished with a silver cloth, if needed.

Repairs are usually simple to make, so if unexpected damage occurs, contact me to arrange a warranty repair or a quote for work needed.
