O.k., so technically speaking I actually came up with this design idea when I saw the Return of the King. Ever since I read the Tolkien trilogy I have imagined doing a series of one-off pieces based on my interpretations of what I imagine the character's natures would be. Throughout the next few days I will be posting the beginning of this series, which I have been working on for the past year and a half. Most will include gemstones that I cut and placed in sterling silver settings that I carved and cast from lost wax molds. Some of the stones will be wire wrapped and some of the pieces are solid silver with the focus being the carved silver design. I know that the characters in the book and film adaptations had their own jewelry pieces. These are just my fanciful imaginings and I hope that you will enjoy wearing them as much as I found pleasure in creating them.
In celebration of approaching summer I am gifting a self collected field crystal specimen with each purchase made throughout the month of June, 2009. In addition if you order any piece from this jewelry line I will provide free shipping for the jewelry only. I do recommend adding in the cost of insurance though as I want your treasures to reach you safely and in the exact condition you expect them.

The labradorite (Finland) I carved for the central pendant in this piece is highly unusual because it displays a strong presence of royal purple chatoyancy throughout the entire stone. Labradorite is a Feldspar and is one of the most prevalent minerals on the planet. Purple coloration is highly uncommon! The stone is 16mmX26mm. It is wrapped in sterling silver and has a vintage Swarovski crystal and tourmalines draped across the bottom. The beaded neck strand is a free-form, random placement mix of cat's eye and faceted gemstone tourmalines from Brazil in red, pink, teal and green, various labradorite shapes (India) with strong chatoyancy and vintage dodecahedron cut AB steel grey Swarovski crystals from former Czechoslovakia. They have a very high refractive index and "pop" much more than modern production Swarovski crystals. The colors of the stones in the photos are true to description. They have not been enhanced!
The necklace is approximately 18' inches in length with another 2 1\/2 to the bottom of the pendant. The s-bar clasp is sterling silver as well.If that is too short for you I will add an extension of s.s. chain link to the back at no extra charge. I am conscious of the fact that jewelry gets caught in clothing and hair and I make my necklaces very strong so that they will not suddenly break free. I want them to be a part of your valued jewelry collection for a very long time to come. If you need additional photos do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for looking!
