I hand drew this etching in pencil on a soft ground (this is a soft coating on the zinc plate. Where I draw, the lines for the print are made). I also made a second plate which I made into an aquatint (this is another process whereby you add resin to the plate and it enables you to create shaded areas and light and dark).
This is a small house in the countryside around Jurancon, in south-west France, in the Pyrenees. I have printed it in Warm Red and Umber.
It is printed in oil-based printing ink on Arches 300gsm etching paper. Size of the print is about 6 inches by about 4, with a margin of paper around that. The paper is acid-free, which means it will not fade with age. It's an off-white colour as I felt it worked best with the colours of the print.
Please convo me for any other information you might want about this print.
