Description

Are your oven mitts a little tired, grungy, and not quite fit for public viewing? Imagine replacing them with this delightful beauty.

We found a marvelous 1950s vintage kitchen collection pattern for making an apron, a pot holder, a toaster cover and curtains (can you picture the flower applique?) and couldn't resist the oven mitt. We have had a blast making this oven mitt with the many great apron fabrics in our shop.

Four different layers give you lots of extra protection. It is made from a quilter's quality 100% cotton print, a layer of heat-resistant Insul-Bright, a layer of 100% cotton batting. It is fully lined with a royal purple 100% cotton lining against your hand, not some cheap felt lining that is found in some imported oven mitts. You can look inside and take a peak in the 3rd photo. It is all quilted together with 100% cotton thread that will not melt against heat.

This mitt is generously sized and even fits my husband's big hands. Most important, it is comfortable to wear and can be machine washed on cool and machine dried on low.

Just think how good any dish would taste pulled out of the oven with a pair of these mitts.

Shipping policies

Everything in the shop is ready to ship within one business day. I ship through USPS, generally flat rate first class mail unless there are multiple items which exceed the weight limitation of first class mail. I work hard to make sure your item will be shipped within the next business day after payment is received, so you should receive your shipment within two or three days depending on how far it is traveling from here in Vermont. If you need something sooner, you can choose an upgraded shipping option.

I am happy to ship internationally, but please note that international customers are responsible for all tax fees and duties associated with shipping to their respective countries
