This large stoneware tile has two carp, facing opposite directions, glazed in two shades of green. The body is in a textured green, with the fins and tail in a glossy finish brighter green. The eye is yellow. The background is a light cream with a matte to satin finish, with tiny light brown flecks scattered through it.

The carp designs have been carved into linoleum blocks, then pressed into the damp clay, embossing it to a depth of around 1/8” or so. After drying for 1-2 weeks, the tile is fired to bisque, at which point the glaze is painted on with 2-3 coats. It is then fired again, resulting in durable stoneware. The unglazed back of the tile has been painted with two coats of matte tile sealer.

NOTE: The tile is listed as just a tile, with NO hanger. If you would like a hanger on the back, as shown in the photo, let me know in the “instructions” section when you purchase it. The hanger will be similar to this, with wire picture hanger. The hangers themselves will be a rectangular shape, not the rounded ones shown here.
