The Ear Wires used for this piece are solid 14K Yellow Gold. Gold has an extraordinary heritage with unique qualities. As an enduring element found naturally in a distinct yellow color, gold is resistant to rust, tarnish, and corrosion. Although gold is very strong, it's also the most malleable of all precious metals.
Pure gold is too soft for everyday wear, so it is alloyed with a mixture of metals like silver, copper, nickel, and zinc to give it strength and durability. Karatage, denoted by a number followed by "k" indicates purity, or how much of the metal in a piece of jewelry is gold. Karatage is expressed in 24ths, making 24k gold, 100% gold. 14k gold is composed of 58.3% gold and 41.7% of other metals. Most higher-end jewelery designers either use 14K gold or 18K gold to create more expensive jewelry because of its durability and aesthetic beauty.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS-

Since gold is a natural element, it is affected by harsh chemicals such as chlorine or other cleaning products. I recommend that you remove your jewelry when using chemicals to reduce daily abrasions and prolong the luster.

If over time you find that the Gold ear wire is getting grimy, which is perfectly normal, gently wipe it with a gold polishing cloth (available at most General Purpose stores in the jewelry section or online). They are incredibly cheap and last a very long time.

To clean gold jewelry, I recommend getting a professional jeweler to do so (I do not provide this particular service at this time). If you chose to clean the earrings yourself, please do so with great care. You can use a solution of warm water and detergent-free soap with a soft lint-free cloth to gently remove surface dirt. Be sure to let the jewelry air dry completely before storing it.

Please note that cleaning your own jewelry may result in damage to the piece that you will be responsible for. Thank you for your understanding.
