Starfish, also know as the Sea Star, is not a fish. It’s an echinoderm, closely related to sea urchins and sand dollars. There a some 2,000 different species of the sea star all over the world. I am not sure if you read a little about myself but I was considered a local in the Bahamas because I either lived there 3-6 months out of the year and I was a regular visitor. I collected a lot of sand dollars on the less traveled beaches but I rarely found any sea stars that had already washed ashore with the shells.

Here I cut hot pink canvas fabric to be used for the exterior of this designed bag. A starfish design is traced on white canvas fabric (or unless you want a different color) cut out and then stitched on using white heavy duty thread.

The final touch we used a Hiker grommet press to put in heavy duty grommets. Soft marine grade white line is then run through the grommets, the ends are tied in a knot, and the very ends are slightly melted with a torch to prevent any fraying or ever coming apart.

All bags are machine washable. Allow to air dry.
