The mythical hippocampus, or seahorse, was prized by Poseidon for their spirit and elegance. Pounding the surf with their hooves as their fish-like tails coiled behind them, teams of seahorses would be seen at sea drawing Poseidon in his chariot behind them. Though they have rarely been sighted since ancient times, there are still whispers about the beasts being seen at sea and the beauty of the soft greens and blues which allow them to melt back into the waves from which they emerged so completely no one who sees them is ever quite sure if it was just a trick of the ocean or if Poseidon's seahorses still ride the waves to this day.
This borderless print arrives ready to go into any standard rame or mat.
All works are printed on high-quality archival matte paper using archival inks which will last a lifetime if kept out of direct sunlight. The paper is water and smudge resistant with a soft look and feel that is the perfect compliment to the watercolor and ink methods that are use to create the originals.

Absolutely beautiful watercolor. Such a treasure to unexpectedly find! It will be hung in a special place among what my brother calls my "eye candy." Perhaps visitors will ask about it so it will truly be what Victorians called "conversation pieces." Enjoy sharing beautiful things. Pleasure to do business with such a congenial, helpful seller.
