Description

This oversized envelope clutch bag is made of brightly-colored antique hand-embroidered cotton and silk textiles with rupee coins, tribal jewelry pieces, and mirror embellishments. It features a magnetic closure and black canvas lining with an interior zip. This clutch can be folded two ways for variation in size. Handmade from start to finish.

The Kuchi Clutch is named after the nomadic Pashtun Kuchi tribe in Afghanistan, where some of our materials are sourced. Kuchi comes from the Persian word koch, meaning "migration".

Jal Walla searches throughout Northern India on the hunt for beautiful vintage products handmade by exceptional traditional artisans and tribal people. The materials of this bag are antique/vintage tribal fabrics collected over the course of many years from many different tribes – some of which are up to one hundred years old. This means they may have marks, blemishes and in some cases loose stitching and tears. Wear that may have occurred to the textiles over time only add to their individuality and are not considered imperfections. All bags are made from one of a kind textiles and are entirely unique from one another.

15.5" x 11"

Beautiful obijime that is still new and has a perfect condition. The seller was very helpful to ship it quickly so that I could use it to dress up in a formal Japanese kimono on a big event on the weekend.

Additional policies

I take all of my pictures under artificial light and try to get the truest colors I can. Individual monitor settings may vary. In some photos I've taken out the distracting reflection of light umbrellas. Stones look their best in natural light and some are very reactive to sunlight. What may appear a duller color indoors will glow in sunlight.

All of my jewelry is handmade and most of it is vintage or contains vintage pieces. The textile pieces are composed of handmade vintage fabric sourced from small villages in Asia. I add non-vintage elements myself to make the items wearable and contemporary. Each piece is made with quality and beauty in mind, however they will not have the cold perfection of a machine like you would find in a typical commercial shop. If you are expecting a handmade piece, you will be happy. If you are expecting a machined piece like in commercial stores, this may not be the shop for you. I hope you will find the perfect piece.

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. People with copper sensitivity may experience skin discoloration from wearing sterling silver rings.

The patina on vintage sterling silver is not permanent and will rub off easily with a smooth cloth. Silver oxidizes naturally and left to its own devices, it would stay dark, but people don't stand still, so where the ring bumps up against things, the silver will darken again with time. The end result is that the ring will always be in flux, alive and changing.

If you'd like me to touch up the finish on your jewelry, there is no fee, just let me know.

Please contact me for wholesale requests!
