Description

Ideal for the polymer clay dollmaker considering a conversion to high-fire ceramic stoneware OR the ceramist contemplating a shift into mixed media figurative sculpture and doll art, this 10-page, fully-illustrated 'teaser' consists of a brief introduction to the precedent of my own process of direct-sculpting, followed by a glimpse at the tutorials' Table of Contents and a series of eight introductory appendices detailing everything from resources for purchasing supplies to a brief overview of all stages of clay preparation, sculpting, and maintaining your studio plumbing to firing and sealing the finished wares in natural beeswax.

While these tutorial are not meant to be approached in isolation but as part of a series, i appreciate the beginner's dilemma of affording the entire program at once and herewith offer the very same learning opportunity on an 'installment plan' which can be purchased a la carte. Hence, the Appendices don't include any of the animal-bust tutorials offered in the full version, but Appendix D offers a complete "at-a-glance" chart of how i build my busts from a flat slab of clay that i turn out into a hollow cone; ceramists versed in hand-building from slabs will find interesting twists on standard processes in this method, while those familiar with building in polymer or paperclay over foil armatures are in for a revelation!

Please note also that this listing is for an INSTANT DOWNLOAD of Appendices A-H only, excerpted from the Beginner Tutorial; no kits or tools are included.

Please note my shop policies before purchasing this item: NO REFUNDS ON DIGITAL FILES.
