Many people refer to this triptych as a Lord Bodner or a Lord Ballantine octopus. If you research for a Lord Bodner or a Lord Ballantine, you will find they are both myths. Lord Bodner and Lord Ballantine are in existence strictly for marketing purposes. The true story behind this octopus is much more fascinating. The print is from an engraving that was created during a scientific expedition commissioned by Napoleon that was a part of his campaign in Egypt. I prefer the curly tentacles to be on the right side, but if you find it more aesthetically pleasing for them to be on the left, the octopus can be reversed. If you would prefer to have your octopus reversed so the curly tentacles face the left, message me and I will do that.
