Enyo: War Goddess Ruby Red Henna Hair Color Dye and Conditioner is our darkest red blend, trending towards ruby.
🌿 No PPD, metallic salts or other chemicals
🌿 Pure plant matter: vegan, non-GMO, organic coloring
🌿 Hand-blended in small batches
🌿 Cruelty-free, tested only one animal: me!

⚔️ Enyo was the Greek goddess of war, often depicted with deep red hair and covered in blood, Enyo so delighted in warfare that she even refused to take sides in the battle between Zeus and the monster Typhon, preferring the fight to go on as long as possible. This herbal hair color would be fitting for a war goddess, imparting vivid orange tones to lighter colored hair, and giving deep red warmth as well as amazing natural conditioning properties to darker colored hair. Keep in mind, multiple applications will deepen the color from orange, to ruby red, to burgundy. Because of the henna content, Enyo dye will still flare orange in the sunlight.

🍃 Ingredients: Henna (Lawsonia Inermis), Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria), Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis), Elder Berry (Sambucus canadensis), Beet Root (Beta vulgaris), Triphala powder (amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki)

🍁 Please note!

This product contains significant amounts of henna, which is permanent and rarely fades like chemical reds. You cannot remove henna with a color remover, and bleaching it out will damage your hair long before you get rid of the orange. This product also contains small amounts of indigo, which is never encouraged to bleach over as failure to remove it all may result in greenish or blue tints to hair.

This is a deposit-only herbal hair color, it cannot lighten your hair. Please refer to the color chart and strand test to determine your resulting color.

🌿 Herbal Hair Powder Preparation & Instructions:

1. In a bowl add the herbal powder. In a separate container heat distilled water until steaming but not boiling and add, mixing until you have a mud the consistency of pancake batter. Add a few drops of Essential Oil if you wish. Please research your EOs carefully.

2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set someplace warm. Atop a warm electronic, such as a computer tower works well, or under a warm lamp. Mix occasionally, letting sit for at least 2-4 hours, and no more than 6.

3. When ready to use, wash hair but do not condition (or condition very lightly). Section towel-dried hair and work the herbal mud into the hair, making sure not to miss spots. Carefully pile hair atop the head and cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Leave on for 2-6 hours, the longer you leave it on the deeper the conditioning benefits and the more colored tones that will be imparted.

4. Rinse well with water. If you find rinsing difficult, try soaking your hair in the bathtub or a bucket first, or use a lots of a cheap silicone-free conditioner (like VO5) to aid rinsing

🌿 Detailed Ingredients

Henna Body Art Quality Rajastani (Lawsonia Inermis)- Henna is a natural plant coloring for the hair; made from the powdered leaves of a desert shrub plant, Lawsonia. It deposits a reddish hue to the hair, as well as strengthening the hair and smoothing the cortex.

Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria): A natural deep blue dye that has been used for centuries to dye fabric a deep blue.

Hibiscus: Hibiscus Flower aka Jaswand (Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis)– An emollient (meaning it helps the cuticle of the hair lay down) and a demulcent (meaning it leaves a light soothing film behind) this herb has a cooling effect. It stimulates hair growth, increases hair thickness, reduces and prevents graying, balding, hair-loss, dandruff, split-ends, and many other hair conditions and many scalp disorders. It is also an excellent natural conditioner that may impart a warm reddish color to hair.

Elder Berry (Sambucus canadensis): This botanical is native to Europe, Northern Africa, and Western and Central Asia. Its flowers and berries have a long history of use in traditional European medicine. The berries produce a deep purple-red dye.

Beet Root (Beta vulgaris): Betanin, obtained from the roots, is used as red food colorant, to improve the color and flavor of many foods, and is also used in ink.

Triphala powder: Triphala is recommended and used more than any other Ayurvedic herbal formulation. It is composed of the dried fruits of amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki.

Arrived intact and in very good condition. Even though this was my first try at Herbal Dyes, I actually did a great job because of the very easy-to-read and simple instructions! Hair now looks exactly as it advertises in the picture, with a really nice shine. The only con I can think of is the smell of the herbal dye, which smells very potent. But hey, that's nature for you. Couldn't be happier with the results. :)

I loved the Enyo henna & indigo combo. Perfect for covering greys on my dark brown hair. The greys did turn a bright ginger color, but I had some red/gold natural highlights anyway so they blend right in. Highly satisfied! I have waist length curly hair and 300g made enough plus extra to dye my roots in a month or so! I did only leave it in for an hour and a half. I didn't want to change my natural color much, just wanted to cover greys.

Super happy with how my hair turned out! I've been dyeing it auburn for years, and was able to get the exact same color with enyo (plus my hair was much more shiny and soft than when I've dyed it)- definitely switching to henna now!

This is a repeat purchase. Love this color because it's already blended with other herbs for better color. Also I think she re-grinds it so the texture once mixed is much easier to use (more like regular hair color).
