If you've gotten this far...I hope this has inspired you!

Thank you for looking and reading!

Have a great stitchy day!

The Inspiration:
You hear a rustling in the fireplace. The room is dark but for the lights on the Christmas tree set to the side of it. You duck further behind the big, comfy sofa and wait. He'll be here any moment now, You hold your breath as another noise comes from the depths of the fireplace. Is this the year you'll see that great man...the one they call Santa Claus?

The milk and cookies are out on the small table by the tree. Only the most perfect cookies, on a perfect china plate, sitting on grandmother's doily. The milk in a crystal goblet you got just for Santa. It was picture perfect and you hope against hope that it will be the year.

And that's when you hear it. The thump of boots against the fireproof tiles. You sneak a quick peek around the sofa and, sure enough, you see his shiny, black boots standing in the fireplace.

You duck back quickly and hold your breath. And as quick as a wink, you hear the soot, ash and debris falling as he shoots back up the chimney to the roof and his team. You missed him...again!

You get up and look over the sofa. Your disappointment rises as you see the milk and cookies are right where you left them. Untouched. Your head drops and you start to turn to go up to bed when something begins to trouble you. That's when you notice it, or rather, you don't see it. You come around the sofa, rubbing your eyes before looking at the sofa and the pillows tucked in its corners. But one is missing. The Santa's milk and cookies counted cross stitch pillow that you had finished the week before and put in prime position on the couch is missing.

A smile breaks out on your face as you turn to head back up to bed. Santa did get his milk and cookies after all.

I love this design for a pillow. I also wanted rustic but soft. The seller has been the best to communicate with. I asked her so many questions, but yet she was always happy, gracious and helpful! Started this. Not an easy pattern, but the detail will be so worth it.

Dorothy, I was getting ready for bed and decided to check my emails.....and there you were with the finished product. You made me cry.........I am 73 yrs old and have been cross stitching for over 40 years and never, I mean never have I ever seen a pattern so clearly printed, clearly stated, soooooo professionally done, so beautifully explained as what you just provided............I have no words..............thank you is not good enough. What you went through to produce this for me, I don't have the words to express my gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The finished product is going to a well deserved police officer at Christmas time. As I wipe the tears, I smile because I met someone like you. You are awesome! Thank you for being YOU! Beautiful but very involved-many colours and very “bitty” to sew. Chart is difficult to read. I’m a very experienced cross-stitcher but decided it was just too much effort.

One of my favorite x-stitch patterns. It'll be quick to work up and the pattern is well written. Would make a great gift for so many people I know, especially myself. LOL
