THIS TRULY AMAZING LATE 18TH CENTURY**ENGLISH EVENING COURT GOWN**
CONSTRUCTED TO GIVE THE AUTHENTIC ROCOCO LOOK WHILE REMAINING EASY TO WEAR

DEEP RED TAPED TAFFETA 'VERITY' GOWN. FULLY CORSETED FOR AN AMAZING 'PUSHED UP' EFFECT!!!



THE FABRICS
A beautiful delicate taped taffeta that rustles as you sweep into the ballroom.
The fine taffeta ribbon that swirls over the fabric forming ruffled flowers combined with the 'two tone' effect of the shot taffeta gives a magnificently rich depth to the whole gown.

THE BODICE
Is heavily boned and lined while the feature back strapping pulls the gown in for a fully 'corseted' look and perfect fit. The front 'v' panel has 7 pieces of boning encased within a triple layer of heavy calico that gives a fully pushed up bust. A ruffle runs around and down the the neck and down the front, so typical and 'a la mode' during the 1790's. A beautiful wide silver and black lace finishes the gown beautifully

THE SLEEVES
The fully lined elbow shaped three quarter sleeves have a shaped deep delicate lace running around the elbow, just above the flamboyant flounce ,there is the same 'ruffle' that edges the front of the bodice and main skirt.

SKIRT
The 180 inch main skirt has been shaped to trail away at the back and train as you walk.. The plain taffeta inset apron ties seperatly around the waist allowing for adjustment of length

THE NECK RUFFLE, NECKLACE, FAN OR DRAWSTRING BAG ARE AVAILABLE AT AN EXTRA CHARGE OR THEY ARE GIVEN AS A GIFT WHEN THE GOWNS ARE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM THE ENGLISH COSTUME COMPANY FACEBOOK SITE.

THE GOWN IS DISPLAYED OVER A 6 HOOP PANNIER FRAME NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE BUT AVAILABLE IN MY 'SELLERS OTHER ITEMS'

The construction of the gown coupled with the back ribbon strapping makes for a perfect fit on a range of approx 2 or more sizes. I.e. the gown will fit several bust sizes perfectly

The gowns are subject to a 7% surcharge for extra size. Over 44 inch bust ans 38inch waist or 47 inch lenght.
