Shilajit Is One Of The Top Herbs In The Ayurvedic Medicine Tradition!
What Exactly Is Shilajit?
Shilajit is a pale-brown to blackish-brown pitch or tar that exudes from layers of rocks in several mountain ranges of the world, especially the Himalayan and Hindukush ranges of the Indian subcontinent. Shilajit is microbially digested plant and mineral matter that has been incubated and pressurized for tens of thousands to millions of years through seismic and geological shifts.
As the Earth shifted, organic matter folded upon itself, trapping minerals between its layers. Eventually, the magnetized minerals made their way out through the crevices of the mountain in ionic and dual-ionic form. The medicine men of the Himalayas became aware of Shilajit by watching animals, particularly white monkeys, living in the areas where the Shilajit was arising out of the rock strata.
They clearly noted that the same species of monkey at the top of the mountain were strong, virile, agile, and more communal while the monkeys at the lower region of the mountain were more sickly, slower, and discordant. The monkeys at the top of the mountain were consuming the mineral pitch (Shilajit) while the monkeys below did not have access to it. Based on these findings, these ancient healers began incorporating Shilajit into the medicinal repertoire of their regions.
Eventually, through thousands of years of time-proven benefits, Shilajit came to be considered the #1 tool in Ayurvedic medicine, the traditional herbal system of India.
Why Choose Longevity Herbs and Superfoods Shilajit Powder?
This Shilajit is considered to be an Ayurvedic Herb, as it is a potent mineral supplement, whereas other companies sell more of a Fulvic Acid Concentrate.
Because Our Shilajit Powder is a cold water extract, it sustains all of the organic and ionic dietary minerals, trace minerals, and ultra trace minerals. It delivers 88+ dietary minerals and trace minerals along with fulvic and humic acid. This is different from Shilajit produced by other companies that do not contain the high level of minerals.
One of the benefits of the lower Fulvic Acid content is that you can take more of our Shilajit to mineralize your body faster. Fulvic Acid is fantastic, but the real "magic" of Shilajit is the organic and ionic dietary and trace minerals.
Shilajit: The Health Benefits
Shilajit is potentially the most significant herb one can consume in order to:
Mineralize the body with the full spectrum of dietary minerals and trace minerals needed for human health. Contains 88+ dietary minerals and trace minerals along with fulvic and humic acid.
Shilajit can be taken in many varying dosages, up to 1tsp twice a day for intense usage, and is most commonly mixed into water, juice in smoothies and as an Ayurvedic additive to chocolate sauces.
Serving Size: 1/4tsp (1g)
What is it? Shilajit is a type of organic mineral pitch used in Ayurvedic treatments. It forms from the terrain in the Himalayas and other mountainous regions around the world. Shilajit translates to "rock of life" in Sanskrit. It will usually be found in a powder form varying in color from deep red to dark brown, dark brown having the highest concentration and potency.
Suggested Usage: Add to your favorite smoothies, tea, juice, water or elixirs.
Serving Size: If you are completely new to this herb, it is best to start small (1/16-1/8 teaspoon), and gradually build up as your body adapts to its potency to 1/2 teaspoon or more.
Suggested Usage: Shilajit can be added into a multitude of foods to increase its medicinal benefits. Shilajit is quite earthy in flavor, with an almost coffee aroma. It pairs deliciously with Cacao!
Add to elixirs, tonics, smoothies, homemade ice creams, puddings, fruit and/or vegetable juices, water, etc. Small amounts (1/4-1/2 tsp) of Shilajit mixed in pure water tastes like a light herbal tea.
Larger doses (1 tsp-2 TBSP) of Shilajit can be stirred in warm herbal tea (yerbe mate, pau d'arco, cat's claw, nettles, horsetail, etc) or in pasture-raised, grass-fed, raw cow or goat's milk. (Traditionally, Shilajit was consumed in raw milk, so it naturally works well with rich and creamy smoothies or elixirs.)
Another combination that can be useful is to mix Shilajit with MSM. Add as much Shilajit with as much MSM as you desire, equal parts of each, into 32 oz of water. The Shilajit assists in breaking down the MSM molecules further because of the fulvic acid content. The MSM opens up the permeability of the cell wall allowing the minerals in and assists with wicking the toxins out. (Ideal amount: One heaping tablespoon of each. However, you must work up to this amount, beginning with 1/8 tsp and increasing slowly.)
