Description

Signed archival giclée print of a giant skeleton monster, crawling through the dark forest & about to pounce on an unsuspecting traveler. As Halloween decor or presiding over your cabinet of macabre curiosities, this creepy fellow makes a memorable memento mori.

If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise... Gashadokuro, the giant skeleton! This huge & deadly creature likes to bite off human heads. Its appearance is heralded by a ringing in the ears. (I think I may have had some close encounters after performances by loud bands.)

REPRODUCTION of an acrylic painting on an illustration scanned from my copy of Frank Leslie's Chatterbox, 1880-1881, size of original~6.5"x7.5" Look closely (Zoom) to see the poor, tiny human in the picture-- at the moment he still has his head, but I very much doubt his luck will last!

Gashadokuro is one of the many & fascinating Japanese creatures known as Yokai. For more yokai & other Asian mythical beasties, please see: http://etsy.me/1gJrs05

If you are interested in the original, please contact me & I'll list it!

The print is 600 dpi on heavy archival Hahnemuhle paper, using Epson UltraChrome inks for longevity & vivid, accurate color. The untrimmed paper size is 8.5"x11" (21.59 x 27.94cm) with the live image enlarged to ~8"x9.25" (20.32 x 23.49m).

I will sign & date it in pencil, pack it carefully between cardboard for safe transit, & mail it First Class USPS. ***Please request insurance if desired.*** It may take a couple of days to pack & mail but should reach you in about a week within the contiguous US. Please note that the mails do take longer near the holidays, & overseas mailings can take quite a while. Expedited shipping is possible at an extra cost. Please contact me directly before ordering.

If you have any questions or problems with this listing, please contact me directly & I will do everything possible to help!
