Description

These tiny treasures measure just one inch in length from the apex of the hook to the earrings' bottom tip.

Shimmering pale green Peridot is a birthstone of August, and it goes by many names, including the Evening Emerald, Chrysolite, and Olivine. The actual word of origin for Peridot is from the French word peritôt, meaning unclear, because of the numerous inclusions and internal fractures often found within Peridot gemstone beads. Ancient Egyptian papyrus scrolls record the mining of Peridot as early as 1500 B.C. on Topazo Island, now called St. John's Island, in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Peridot is believed to bring prosperity and happiness and to help with cellular rejuvenation and to help with the problems of aging.

Peridot is not earthbound; it is an intergalactic stone! Although many different gems have been found in meteorites that have fallen to earth, Peridot is the only one that is found in sizes large enough to be made into jewelry. These gem-carrying meteorites are called pallasites, and the Peridot found in them is given a special name too -- Moldavite. [Interested in wearing jewelry made from stones that have traveled through space and time? Write me to request Moldavite! I try to keep it in stock, but it usually sells out quickly!]

Gold-filled means that the outer 10% is 10-14k gold bonded to an inner filling of a harder metal for strength and durability. The result is a metal with the same look and wearability of karated gold at a fraction of the cost. Gold-filled is NOT gold-plated! The layer of gold on gold-plated items is only 1/1000 of the total metal content, and as you probably know, it rubs off easily. Conversely, Gold-Filled is very substantial and does not come off with normal wear or cleaning.

All of my french hook earrings come with rubber stoppers for added security and stability, but use of the tips is optional depending upon the preference of the wearer. Earrings come in a recyclable poly pouch which can be used for storage.

I am sorry to hear that the rubber clutches tarnished the sterling ear wires. I've never had this happen before. I have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and am sending you pre-paid postage to return the items so that I can re-make them and replace them.

These are pretty, but one of the hooks was mangled in transport (insufficient packaging), and part of its hook blackened where the nylon back was placed.

I'm so sorry to hear that the earring arrived damaged and that the rubber clutch caused the sterling to tarnish. I want you to be 100% satisfied, so I am replacing the earrings for you.
