Description

Vintage Storehouse Antiquing Powder is a non-toxic, highly pigmented fine powder designed to create beautiful faux finishes including that gorgeous distressed/antique look that we all love. VS Antiquing Powder is available in 9 beautiful colors that can be mixed to create countless custom colors as well.

Caramel Latte is the lightest brown in our collection. It’s an extremely soft muted brown with warm caramel undertones. It’s perfect for a subtle accent of color!

COVERAGE

The 2 oz. size is large enough to do approximately 1-2 medium sized projects. The 6 oz. is large enough to do 3-6 medium sized projects. Coverage may vary depending on the amount of product applied and the size of the project.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Quicker & Easier application than traditional dark wax or glaze.
More control over depth of finish. You have the ability to create a lighter or darker effect and blend that effect to create varying texture throughout the entire piece.
Highly pigmented powders means a little goes a long way. One small container of Antiquing Powder can do approximately 1-2 pieces. A large container can do approximately 4-6. (Coverage may vary depending upon the size of the piece and the amount of product applied).
More Authentic Look – Vintage Storehouse Antiquing Powder is a fine powder that when applied – closely mimics the look of real authentic dust and debris that would gather on a piece over time.
Comes in 9 gorgeous colors that can be mixed to create countless custom colors.

COLOR DESCRIPTIONS

White Cashmere is a beautiful, pure, soft white perfect for creating a subtle or intense effect. It can be used to create a wash, a limed effect or as a glaze. It’s creamy texture gives it a very soft, blurred appearance on a finished piece.

Caramel Latte is the lightest brown in our collection. It’s an extremely soft muted brown with warm caramel undertones. It’s perfect for a subtle accent of color!

French Cobblestone is a natural gray color that closely resembles authentic dust that would gather on the surface of an old antique. It is a very subtle color, with warm undertones that looks beautiful on both light and dark painted pieces.

Early American is a medium dark brown that has a gorgeous rustic coloring that is extremely flexible to work with. It was inspired by Early American Furniture, and has the same muted undertones found in both Caramel Latte and Roasted Chestnut.

Warm Nutmeg is a medium brown color that has a gorgeous rustic – reddish undertone. It is slightly more vibrant than Early American and it is extremely flexible, working well with most colors.

Roasted Chestnut is a deep rich medium-dark brown color. It has neutral undertones similar to Early American and Caramel Latte, but is much darker and more vibrant. It is extremely pigmented and creates a beautiful pop of color where applied.

Wrought Iron is a gorgeous, soft, dark grey color with warm brown undertones that create a soft muted charcoal effect.

Vanilla Bean is the darkest brown in our collection. It is extremely rich and dramatic, with subtle warm mahogany undertones going well with almost any color.

Vintage Typewriter is the darkest color in our collection of Antiquing Powders. It is a rich black color that is extremely pigmented, creating a stunning pop of color even on dark painted pieces.

INSTRUCTIONS

For the most authentic look, we recommend using one of our dusting brushes to apply VS Antiquing Powder directly after applying your final coat of clear wax. Focus on cracks, details and imperfections. Work the dust into all the cracks and texture of the paint until you get the desired effect. In most cases, you’ll want to remove excess powder for a lighter effect with either mineral spirits or another coat of clear wax. Mineral Spirits gives you more control over the depth of the finish, while wax will provide more texture. Mineral Spirits will also help you spread the powder around a little more to make sure to fill in all small holes and dings.

Used it on my fireplace. It worked well covering the sanded wood. You may not need to sand but I used just latex first then decided I wanted a different finish and bought this to add to the paint.

Tried product on an old mismatched bedroom set. Very satisfied. Furniture was golden oak and some other dark stained color. Follow directions carefully and works superbly but had to learn some 'tricks' of my own NOT in product video. Dries fast and uneven when brushing out too long. On the large flat surfaces like top and sides, coat total area heavily, brush out to even finish- BUT FINISH with full end to end strokes to eliminate any unevenness. Covering my dark wood Required 3 coats. Used 2 coats polyurethane and now have a lovely matched set. No 5 star rating because Etsy product page shows it's available in larger quantities but that option not offered to purchase. Wanted 12 additional oz but had to buy 3 - 4oz jars and was charged same shipping cost on EACH jar. All 12 oz could have fit in one jar. Product recommended
