A pair of real Scarab Beetles "floats" on Sterling Silver French hooks in these unique earrings. Species Cyphogastra javanica from Indonesia. You won't see it from the front, but the beetles are attached to a silver feather on their back side. The beetles have been coated with clear acrylic, which will make them more durable. They can get wet, they can be exposed to plenty of sunlight, and the wings are glued shut. The only thing that will really destroy these is crushing.....so don't step on them, and you'll be fine! :) French hooks are .925 sterling silver.

These guys are about an inch tall, and are are quite metallic in the sunlight, as you can see in the last photo here, completely un-retouched. Color changes from blue to green to gold to red. Reminds me of raku pottery. These will be a very limited run, as I only have a few available to me.

1) The discount applies only to orders made up entirely of unmounted insects. Unmounted insects are any insects that I don't have to prepare for you, so it's pretty much everything in my shop except for prepared ("spread") butterflies and jewelry. Papered butterflies and even laminated butterflies are fine for the discount.
2) Insects sold as A Quality will be in that condition generally. However, due to the numbers of specimens involved these species won't be as carefully checked for quality and one may find occasional imperfections.
