Knit Shrug Pattern

This knitting pattern is for a shrug that features a fairly simple knit lace stitch. An advanced beginner can complete this project. The pattern is a 2 row repeat with garter row cuffs at each sleeve end. The shrug is knit in one piece and a small amount of seaming is done at the end for the sleeves.

This shrug was knit with Chroma Fingering weight yarn by Knit Picks in the color Guppy - I love the shades of this yarn and it is so soft and a joy to knit with. The shrug is knit with size US 7 circular needles but you could also knit it with straight needles if you prefer. You will need to know how to knit, slip a stitch, purl 2 together, pass slip stitch over and yarn over to knit this pattern. This accessory only takes one skein of fingering weight yarn or approx. 396 yards.

The measurements are 38 in. from sleeve end to sleeve end - so it is a 3/4 sleeve and an 18 in. drop in the back. The sleeves are 9 in. wide or 18 in. around.
