Pattern features a cute crosshatch pattern which is achieved by cables, a slightly pointy pixie top, and matching shorties. Hat is size NB to Adult, Shorties are size NB to Toddler. Makes a great baby shower gift or photography prop.

Pattern is advanced beginner level. The knitter should be familiar with basic cables (cabling is on front and back of work) and picking up stitches. The hat is finished with a 3 needle bind off but there is a page dedicated to a photo tutorial on how to do this. Pattern is written in standard American English knitting terms. There are two files for this pattern, one for the hat and one for the shorties.

Sizes provided:
- Newborn
- 3-6 months
- 6-12 months
- 12-18 months
- toddler 2T-3T
- 4-10 years (hat only)
- 11+ years (hat only)

Materials required:
- 16 inch / 40 cm circular needles, size US 9 / 5.5mm (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- One Cable Needle, for cable pattern (omit for cable needle free cabling; it is encouraged to save time on this project)
- Tapestry Needle, to sew yarn ends in 

- Set of DPNs, size US 9 / 5.5mm, for i-cords & bind-off
- Six stitch holders, scrap yarn may be subbed

- Approximately 175(215,260,310,125,140) yards aran weight yarn (examples shown in Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice yarn)
