This listing is for handwoven tallit (tallis or prayer shawl) commissioned by you to your specifications. The photos shown are for example only.

Own a personal, heirloom-quality tallit that reflects your values and individuality...

- Commission a once-in-a-lifetime item for a bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah, wedding, conversion, Shabbat, or holidays.

- Personal consultations--you work with the artist via phone and email to choose the colors and design that match your tastes and personality. Convo me to begin the conversation!

- Your tallit is made out of a yarn that is a beautiful blend of 50% tussah silk and 50% merino wool. (100% merino wool may be used instead.) The body of the tallit is usually white or off-white, but you may choose a different color. The stripes on the tallit may be in a myriad of colors--you choose!

- Your tallit comes with a matching lined bag. Upon request and with an extra charge, I will be happy to weave extra fabric for you to make into a kippot (I do not sew kippot myself).

- The atarah (neckpiece) comes sewn on to the tallit unless you request otherwise. (Occasionally an individual or family member may wish to embroider the atarah and then sewn it to the tallit themselves. I do not do any embroidery myself.)

- Completed tzitzit fringes are included tied to your tallit, or you may tie them yourself (instructions provided).

- Your tallit will be approximately 18" wide and 72" long, but narrower widths and longer or shorter tallit are available.

- If you live in the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington state, I would be happy to host you and your family so that you and your loved ones may weave a small portion of your tallit. (I will provide a brief weaving lesson.)

- Upon request, I am happy to provide photos of your tallit periodically as it is being woven. I am also happy to send you a small swatch of the handwoven fabric before you place your order--just convo me.

- Please order as far in advance of your special event as possible--at least a two-month lead time is requested, but other arrangements may be made at an additional cost.

- A 50% deposit is required before your project is begun. Please see this listing for your 50% down payment: http://www.etsy.com/listing/22216587/made-to-order-custom-handwoven-prayer.

- Your finished tallit will be shipped to you after receipt of your final payment. Shipping via priority mail is free to customers in the United States, and discounted for customers in Canada and other countries (please see shipping rates, below).

- Your unique tallit will last you for a lifetime of celebrations.
