Description

Title: Landøyðan : An Unkindness of Ravens
Artist: Alison McConnachie, Black Heart Scotland

This picture would make a great Hallowe'en gift. The inspiration came partly from old Norse myths in which the raven is seen as a scavenger feasting on the corpses of fallen warriors. Odin was said to have been accompanied by two ravens named Huginn and Muninn and in one saga the Norwegian King, Harald Hardrada, flew a raven banner called Landøyðan (Land-waster).

There are similar tales of the raven’s association with death, destruction and the supernatural throughout ancient mythology among the Celts, Native Americans, Inuits and Ancient Britons.

This a print of my original, abstract pen & ink drawing. Please note that this listing is for the print only. The mount shown is for illustrative purposes only.

++++++++++++++++++++
Prints are output on A4 Hahnemuhle Fine Art "Photo Rag" 188gsm paper. They come wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and will be posted in a board-backed envelope. NB: The copyright symbol and my Black Heart logo will NOT appear on the print you receive.

++++++++++++++++++++

**P&P is FREE to UK**

Shipping policies

I normally deliver by Royal Mail and I endeavour to have the goods arrive within 7 days of order confirmation, but please allow a maximum of 30 days for delivery. I can deliver overseas, but please be aware that delivery time may be longer and certain conditions may apply.

Prices for shipping to the US are for International Tracked & Signed which is my preferred option. However I can send by International Standard which is cheaper. If you want to do this let me know and I'll refund the difference via PayPal.

Please contact me if you have any queries or you wish to discuss alternative delivery arrangements.

If you are buying more than one item, which I can ship in one package, I will refund excess postage after I have posted it. I'll also refund some P&P if I have over estimated the cost.

NB: I often recycle packages/boxes to keep P&P charges low.

PLEASE NOTE:
Black Heart Scotland is not responsible for lost packages once they have been handed over to the postal service. Please contact the postal service if your package is lost in the mail. It is not Black Heart Scotland's responsibility to contact the postal service about a lost/missing package. I can provide insurance for your packages if you are worried about a non-delivery and I will be able to provide you with the certificate of posting to help with any claims.

Additional policies

A quick word on jewellery. I use naturally-occuring sea glass for much of my jewellery. As such, it may have imperfections or variations in colour but these are part of its beauty (in my humble opinion). Jewellery made from shells can be fragile and should be treated with care. The wire used is silver plate and this may tarnish over time so I would always recommend storing your jewellery in plastic bags.

NB: I do not solder my jump rings for safety reasons.

My customer services email is alisonmc@blackheartscotland.com - I shall endeavour to respond promptly and at the latest within 3 days.
