NEED A FANCY DRESS COSTUME? Make your own SKULL MASK from recycled card with these easy to follow instructions.
Over 150 unique designs here on www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Wintercroft
These digital templates enable you to download, print and build your very own unique low polygon 3D Mask. You’ll require no experience, no shipping and no waiting around to get started.
The Skull is one of humanity's most powerful symbols and is often adopted as an icon of courage or rebellion. It also symbolises mortality and reminds us that beauty is more than skin deep. This big, beautiful bone-dome is a Full Mask.
Our Full Masks completely encase one human head and can be custom-fitted with the internal headband included in the templates. Our Masks are designed to be easy to build, robust, and should survive the wildest events. They are ideal for wearing to festivals, parties and even weddings! You will be amazed by the experience of watching your Mask come together as each component is joined. We hope you enjoy the build as much as your finished Mask. The Half Masks feature fewer individual template pieces and really give you a feel of how our build process works: perfect for the first time builder or for a mask-on-the-go!
The templates and instructions are supplied as a PDF that is available to download as soon as you complete your purchase, so there is no waiting for the mail. Simply download your PDF and print the templates on normal printer or copier paper. Just glue the paper to the card of your choice and your ready to create. We’ve set out the templates so that they are FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH BOTH A4 AND US LETTER PAPER. You also get instructions for a simple head band to hold the mask securely in place. All our templates are made by using a tabbed construction method. Please be aware that you are buying the templates and instruction only so you will also need access to a printer, paper, card, tape or glue and scissors.
What makes our Masks unique? You may have noticed that our Masks have a very low number of facets or surfaces. This is called a low poly count. It is this low poly count and some ingenious engineering that make our Masks quick, easy and fun to build. Making things should be enjoyable, so when you come to build your Mask think of the process as relaxing and therapeutic. We supply our templates plain, so that you can make your creation unique by decorating and colouring your Mask in any way that you like. Try coloured card, paints and marker pens, or gluing on patterned paper or fabric. If you are stuck for ideas, look at some of the amazing creations in our customer gallery on our website: wintercroft.com
We believe in minimising our environmental impact, so the Masks are designed to be made from either reclaimed or locally-sourced card. Old packaging boxes work well. We find that empty cereal boxes are perfect, but you can also use 300gsm card purchased from a local craft store. Having printed the templates on paper, stick them to card, cut them out, match the numbers and join the parts together. Why not build a Mask with your kids? The templates are scaled to fit an adult, but you can easily make children's masks by scaling down the templates when you print, check our FAQs on our “Policies” page for details.

Time consuming to make but well worth the effort. I reduced the file to 85% for my 5 year old and it fit well, not perfectly but made a great Halloween costume.

So clever, so smart, absolutely amazing! I did it on a 22"x 28" poster board from Target, less than a dollar. I made the tabs version, however, the Scotch Glue Stick did not seem to do a strong glue work and it took forever to dry the glue,...and when I thought it's done, it fell apart. :'( Eventually I used glue and immediately I taped it to secure it, this saved me lots time. After quite a few Halloween suggestions, my husband is finally pleased with this DIY Halloween mask (he doesn't like me to put makeup on him). I found this mask on Etsy while exploring some ideas on Pinterest. It took me a few hours to finish it (cutting, sticking, matching, gluing) but the result looks great.

Excellent mask! Received lots of compliments while trick-or-treating. I used hot glue for the tabs on this one which was a bit difficult but not impossible. I also used a hand seamer for metal to fold the lines and it sped the process up considerably.

This wasn't as difficult to put together as I thought it would be. It was really quite easy and kind of relaxing. I just wish I had searched out a different cardboard for sharper edges ahead of time. I decorated mine with glow paint and a simple Dia De Los Muertos design for the festival. I also got the patterns for the humanoid masks so I will definitely be putting those together soon. Thanks for this easy to follow pattern!
