In the mid 1970s Private Eye published a small number of posters promoting the magazine with superb models made by Peter Fluck and Roger Law, who later found fame as the creators of the puppets on the legendary TV satire-fest, Spitting Image.

This poster features an imagined caricature of Private Eye's gossip columnist, Grovel - supposedly an anonymous contributor, though, as Fluck and Law knowingly hinted, the magazine's gossip in those days mostly flowed from the embittered typewriter of the Daily Mail's No. 1 weasel, Nigel Dempster.

The poster is unframed. It measures approx 51 cm x 77 cm. These posters are hard to come by these days - and are a great memento of Fleet Street's 70s hey-day and its insatiable lust for vicious tittle-tattle.
