"Books are both our luxuries and our daily bread. They have become to our lives and happiness prime necessities. They are our trusted favorites, our confidential advisers and the safe consumers of our leisure. They cheer us in poverty, and comfort us in the misery of affluence. They absorb the effervescence of impetuous youth, and while away the tedium of age."
--Henry Stevens (b. 1819)

This quote spoke to me so strongly I had to make a pretty cross-stitch pattern for it. The piece measures almost 12 by 9 inches when stitched on 14 ct fabric. It will fit into an 8x10 frame when stitched on 18 ct, however (which is what you see in the picture).

The digital download includes the pattern files (a whole version and one chopped into two images for easier printing) and instructions. This pattern uses colored blocks, with the color instructions for each book listed next to it, in order to make for easier printing, and since there are no color variations within the individual books.

Returns & exchanges

I do not offer refunds. It is up to the buyer to read listings carefully and ask questions before they buy.

If a listing title includes the word "pattern" it is just that, a pattern, not a finished piece.

Additional policies

Do not sell finished pieces made with my patterns barring for charity purposes. In those instances the full price from the finished piece must go to the charity, not a percentage.

My patterns do not use symbols (in general), but solid color blocks on graph paper. For me this is both the easiest way to create a pattern and the easiest to read when stitching.

I am not currently able to convert my patterns to symbols only, though I am working on that with a few of the more complex ones.

If a pattern is difficult to read on your monitor or after printing (ie: if the colors run together), please contact me and I'll work to fix it for you.
