Vivid Lipstick Red, velvet & satin, VLV hourglass dress. So Hollywood starlet hot, Mad Men era cool. Wonderfully Old Hollywood, so purrfectly Marilyn, elegant, coy & sexy all at once. It isn't a full out wiggle, since the hem allows you room to walk, but it makes the point.

NOTE: Bodice is lined with a sturdy canvas, which provides absolutely no stretch. Likely meant to preserve the velvet from stretching, due to the tight nature of the cut, sort of acting like a girdle.

Young Cosmopolitans 1931 - 1991
Best & Company 1879 - 1988

Best & Co began as a traveling trunk show called Liliputian Bazaar, in 1879, selling baby clothes, accessories & prams. After 20+ years of traveling throughout the Bost Wash Corridor, in 1908 Albert Best opened Best & Co, in Manhattan. 1921 saw the opening of new stores & new lines. Brands included Whitehall, 1923 for Mens & boys apparel as well as Claire McCardell's NADA line, for young ladies & women. NADA was a huge success, & today McCardell is touted as changing the entire face of fashion, and for bringing America into the forefront, of fashion. Young Cosmopolitan saw the light of day in 1931, offering high end, elegant, young women's apparel, often custom tailored, at times haute couture (custom made). Best & Co was sold in 1966 to McCrorys, who sold off and liquidated the company in 1977, yet the Young Cosmopolitan trademark remained live & utilized until 1991, I have no idea how or who.
