This black cat artwork features a quirky kitty so your home or office wall can have some extra character peering back at you.

Let me introduce you to Jemma the cat. She is quite the quirky character and I have been lucky to capture her on paper. If you are looking for a fun piece of original art for yourself or a friend, you've found it. Original hand pulled prints are something that will bring joy for a lifetime and are a great way to start your art collection or to add to it.

Jemma's picture has been hand engraved by the same technique and tools that have been in use since the 1700's. The image is composed of two colors, light and dark gray, carved separately and then printed on top of each other to form depth in the features. In the last photo you can see my little printing press where the block is attached waiting to be rolled up with ink and printed. Each print is separately inked and printed and then after drying inspected for quality. The best ones are selected for my limited edition and are signed and numbered. Engraving is a rather labor intensive media, but I thoroughly enjoy the challenges, and being able to make my work available to a wider audience through making multiples makes it totally worth it.

This was an edition of 40 prints total on archival natural white printmaking paper.
Image size: 5 3/4"x3 1/2" or 10x15cm
Paper size: 6 1/2"x 8 1/2" or 16.5x21.5cm

Prints ship flat with plastic sleeves and a little slip that tells you about the piece and the artist.

Window mats are available for the prints as separate items in the store. With a mat and backer added, the prints will be ready to be placed in frames and on a wall as soon as they arrive.

Etsy does not calculate combined shipping for multiple items, or allow different shipping prices for different sizes of prints. I will refund anything over $2 that was overcharged during checkout.
