I am a beginner sewer (beyond home ec class once upon a time) and was really excited to try this pattern which was advertised as being at a beginner level. I made a dress and a sweater. I took my time and finished all of the edges with an overdraft stitch and was really proud of the finished product. Except, the cowl was really small! The 12m size barely fit over my 6m old daughter's head! I noticed another review later saying that the neck has to be drafted. Well, there was nothing in the pattern to say that had to be done and as a beginner, I'm not sure how I would have known to do that. So, while the pattern is lovely overall, I have to give it three stars for this reason. I haven't decided if I'm going to attempt to dismantle the necks and try again... sigh.
